Efficient Boil-off Gas Compression for Modern LNG Systems

During the storage and handling of LNG, unavoidable heat ingress continuously generates boil-off gas (BOG). While this gas was often vented in the past, it is now typically recovered and utilized. Depending on the application, compression is carried out either oil-free to enable subsequent reliquefaction or with oil injection to feed the gas directly into the propulsion system. This approach significantly reduces energy losses, lowers emissions, and increases the overall efficiency of LNG systems.
